Conference: Dis/Embodiment in Contemporary Performance Practices

These past weeks, I have been helping the organizing team of the fourth conference of the International Platform for Performer Training, in Utrecht. The conference brings together artist, researchers, scholars and teachers from, amongst others, Iran, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, and Finland, to discuss ideas about the nature, role and meaning of bodies in our practice.  The conference is curated and organized by the School of Theatre and Professorship Performative Processes at Utrecht University of the Arts (HKU). In preparation for the event, I functioned as a reader and gave suggestions on the programme. During one day of the event, I moderated the talks and the plenary meeting, which I both enjoyed greatly. It was a great pleasure to take the time to discuss this urgent subject, from different perspectives in theatre, dance, live art, and even sports.
