Workshop in summer, Buitenkunst!

Last week I worked with participants of the Theaterwerkplaats at Buitenkunst Randmeer. I co-organised and devised a workshop program for adults together with my colleague Martijn van der Veen. The assignment was to create a diverse workshop program and I worked with the group on basic theatre skills like transformation into character, styles of acting and dialogue. I also devised more performance-based processes and exercises in which they created site-specific research on locations around the Buitenkunst terrain. I worked with a few selected participants towards site-specific performances, which we gattered in the performance Dwalen.  During Dwalen, spectators could devise a self-directed tour and wander into several 7-minute works.  All works pointed attention to the bodily experience of the spectator on that specific site. Activities performed included walking, landscaping, sitting, wandering, dreaming, and breathing.
